Habs blueliner to seek 2nd opinion on headaches

september 17, 2019
A tough break for defenseman Noah Juulsen as the Montreal Canadiens have announced that he will consult a specialist for a second opinion on headaches he is experiencing. The Habs say both the player and his agent are in agreement with this request by the team.

In November of 2018, Juulsen took two pucks to the face in the span of minutes during a game against Washington, suffering a facial fracture. While he did play in four games after that, he then missed the rest of the season due to the injury. According to Sportsnet's Eric Engels, a senior executive with the team told him that Juulsen did not suffer a concussion during the incident.

Juulsen arrived at the team's training camp Saturday seemingly ready for action, but headaches have kept him sidelined since then. The former first-round pick in 2015 was expected to be a regular in the Habs' lineup this season if he could stay healthy.
