LeBrun: Devils, Hischier agree to 7-year extension

october 18, 2019
Nico Hischier and the New Jersey Devils have agreed to a 7-year contract extension worth approximately $50.75M, or an AAV of $7.25M.

Hischier was the New Jersey Devils' 1st round draft pick in 2017 (1st overall). The Brig, Switzerland native has recorded 101 points in 157 career NHL games.

If the price seems high on the 20-year-old, it is because a few of his comparables, notably Kyle Connor and Clayton Keller have recently signed deals in the $7M range, as noted by Bob McKenzie in a follow-up tweet to LeBruns initial report.
