More bad news for former 5th overall pick Olli Juolevi

16 novembre 2019
Olli Juolevi, who was selected fifth overall in the 2016 entry draft by the Vancouver Canucks, is having a tough time while trying to make it to the NHL. After playing just 18 games last season, Juolevi missed the rest of the AHL season with the Utica Comets due to a knee injury. Now, the Canucks have announced that he's been removed from their active roster with the Comets completely, and will be evaluated by the NHL club’s medical staff in Vancouver.

All the Canucks are saying at this point is the 21-year-old promising prospect has a lower-body ailment and there is no timeline for his return. The team adds the injury is not related to the knee injury he suffered last season.

Juolevi recorded five assists in 14 games with the Comets this season. It is interesting to note that he was drafted ahead of Boston's Charlie McAvoy and Calgary's Matthew Tkachuk.
